Chloe A- Untitled
This image doesn’t have a title, much like the last one, and I’m not counting the file name as a name. This was taken at my house at night and was taken with my Minolta MN35Z camera. I edited this by using the Art History and History Brush tools in photoshop to give it a sort of stained glass/impressionist painting feel to it. I also turned up the shadows and used some of the Smudge tool to make it all come together. One thing I think I could have done better is to make it look brighter and then apply the Art History and History Brushes to the image. The subject is some of these solar-powered plastic balls that have a broken look to them that my mom bought from Cracker Barrel a couple of years ago. She recently put them on the porch, they were sort of lit up and I thought “why not?” So I took a shot of them.
RYAN G- The Gym I Go To
This is a picture of the gym I go to. I took this with my iphone while I was leaving. I changed the hue so the color of the sky would change. I changed the green and red to make the turf look better. The only problem with the image is that the weights are a lot harder to see if i were to go back and change something that would probably be it.
Nikolaus H- Racing
The title of this photo is “Racing” and it was taken at my great uncles property at the beginning of October. I did not have my film camera on hand so I took this photo with my phone. To edit this photo, I increased the saturation and decreased the brightness along with adding some more color to some of the faded lettering. This race car has been in my family since the 1960’s and made multiple first place finishes.

Dylan T- Late Night Biking
I took this picture a couple months ago for a project in my driveway. I had propped my bike up with a random cinderblock and the wheel managed to perfectly turn to make the tire look “stylish” and I really liked how the flashlight turned out. I took it with my canon Rebel T7 and I didnt really edit it or this specific one rather because I thought it looks nice normally. If i did edit it i would maybe darken the sky a bit but besides that I think its fine.
Nakeeya M - Always have Self-respect
In this image, I decided to use one of my favorite life quotes. I thought that it would give off a good vibe and get you thinking about how you want to better yourself. With this assignment, I decided to do fruit and bottles because I thought it would be nice and something different. With this image, I blurred the bottles and gave more effect to the purple light and the fruits because I felt in love with how they looked, and I just thought it was very pretty and different from others.
Milan S - Its Okay to Make Mistakes
The title of this image is called It's okay to make mistakes. This was taken in the photography backroom. I turned the light mostly all the way up to give it more light. Then I turned the color slightly to make it kind of darker. I don’t think it could be better. I like it a lot. This experience was quite fun because of the different categories you had to have.
This image is title “fruit-loops” and was taken on my kitchen table at around 9 am in the morning. This was taken on my camera and to edit this photo i just brightened up the image a little bit and gave it a little more light exposure. I think it was edited greatly and by far is one of my best pictures Ive taken so far.
Vincent S- You're Rope
This image was taken of one of my dogs in my living room trotting over toward me about 3 months ago. The camera I used was a Canon EOS 2000D (Rebel T7) and the image is unedited though if I were to edit it to make it better I would remove the dust on the floor.
Lana Q- “Catch Me In The “Mish Pot”
This is a picture of my homie Reagan, the title of this image is “Catch Me In The “Mish Pot” which was taken at the Firehouse in downtown Birmingham. The image title is an inside joke which was created that night, on Halloweekend. I took this photo with my EOS T3 digital camera and edited the image with low saturation, sharpness, a cool tone, and brilliance. I do sort of wish the background was a lot more blurry. This was a super cool night and I'm so glad I got this COOL photo of my AWESOME friend reagan.
Will M- Buddy
The title of this picture is “Buddy”. I took this picture while at home before I left for school. I took this picture with my dad's camera that I have been using for this class. I edited this photo by making the colors more warm and making my dog a bit brighter. I could have edited the photo better making the bed in the background have the same color instead of having one small part of the bed be blue and the rest of the bed being a darker greenish gray color. Other than that, I am really happy with how the picture turned out.
Kameron P- Candle Light
The title of this image is called the Candle Light because obviously it's a candle that is lit up and I took this photo on my dresser one day right in front of my mirror on my dresser so that's where the reflections come in a little. This photo was taken with My Iphone with the live mode off and just took the picture but I also took a lot more from different angles and this was one of my favorites. I edited this photo by making it all black in the background, making the red in the candle turn into kind of a bloody red and making the light of the candle into a vigilante. I think I could have done better with this photo by maybe cropping a little more but other than that I think it's alright.
Devin W- Blood Moon
The title of the image is Blood Moon. I took this picture while I was at work during break. It was taken from Iphone 12 pro max It is unedited. Could have been better if I took the power lines away.
Kamron Y - Ferrari 512M
The title of this image is Ferrari 512M. This was taken in my room for the still life project, specifically the quote image. To edit it I tried my hardest to make it more clear because one of my biggest wishes about this picture is that everything looked cleaner. I also tried to bring out that characteristic Ferrari red. Like I said before, to make it better I wish it was more clear and there was more detail on the lego man's face but overall I think it's pretty cool.
Emmanuel M - Book Talk
This photo is titled “Book Talk.” I took this photo in my room on October 31st, 2022 and I mostly just tried to mess around with the black and white filter and ended up really liking it. I took this on my Nikon D5000 and edited it by slapping on a black-and-white filter and erasing some smudges. Overall I think it turned out great.
Kaylee O- Big Sister Maternity
This photo was taken on November 4th on my sister's birthday and she asked me to help her take some pictures. My sister has a condition where her uterus is sideways it's called “retroverted uterus” and it makes her difficult to carry a child and she this is the one thing that she wanted to have in her life and so she is very excited to have a boy and she has a named picked out and I think its a bad name but if she likes it I will deal with it. But we changed the photo to black and white and it really brought out her eye makeup and her highlights. Also another thing we changed was where we had the ring light and we also dimmed the lights just to show the highlight the back drop.
Layla Q- Arrival
The title of this image is “Arrival”. This photo was taken as my friends and I were unpacking our bags when we finally got to our cabin in Tennessee. It was taken with my Canon PowerShot SX500 IS. I edited this picture by adding several adjustments to the exposure, contrast, and brightness. I added warmth and a light amount of vignette to create depth and to focus on the subject better. It could’ve been better if I had turned down the ISO, but I really do like this picture. Joseph is very awesome and great at playing the acoustic guitar.
Reagan B - Munchies
The title of this image is ‘Munchies’ because that’s the name of the gas station in this picture. This photo was taken downtown on September 29th. This was taken with a Sony SLT a55v and to edit this photo, I turned the exposure down, and increased the saturation. This photo could’ve been better if it was taken on a tripod.
Steven L - The Studio
This pic is called “The Studio” and it was taken on September 7, 2022 in the studio during class. It was taken with my camera, a kodak Pixpro A421. I edited this image by increasing the brightness of it a little bit and decreasing the colors. I think it could be better if I edited a little bit more the shadows and the and maybe increased a little bit more the definition of the pic, but I think it still looks fine.
Pd: Thanks to my guy Anthony San Martin for letting me take this pic of him.
Emily K- Diverse Pumpkins
This picture is titled Diverse Pumpkins because of how different each pumpkin is in the photograph. This was taken in my house on November 2, 2022 with my Canon t7. I didn’t think it needed much editing so I cropped it a little bit and warmed the colors. I think it could be better if I brightened it and turned up the saturation. I really like it because fall is one of my favorite seasons and I feel like this picture has very cozy fall vibes.

Evan S- Cool Boo
This image is called “Cool Boo”. It was taken in my yard the night before Halloween. It was taken with my Nikon 3000 on a tripod. I did not edit this photo. I think I could have had a more empty background. I took this photo because I have a slight obsession with ghosts wearing sunglasses, and I thought it would be fun.
Kenn J- Lightful Rose
It was taken in a classroom the day before we talked about the Still Life assignment. It was taken with my iphone. I put on a filter from photoshop then I heightened the contrast and I also moved the brightness up a little. I think if I messed with the hue and changed a few things around to try something new it would be good.
Kate M- Boogy Ghost
The title of my photo is “Boogy Ghost”. It was taken near the end of October at a place called the Tunnel. It was taken with my Nikon D5600 and of my friend in a ghost costume. I didn’t edit much, just turned the highlights all the way down, put contrast up, and messed with the curves slightly. It would be better if it was darker. My friend fell and it just looked like she was dancing.
Jamie T- Doggo
The title of this image is “Doggo”. It was taken a good while ago in my house. This Photo was taken with my Canon camera. The only thing I really did to this image was add some saturation. I feel like after I edit it more, It can be alot better. This is not the greatest picture of all time, but I feel like it's pretty decent.
Crystal V- Sunflower
The name of this photo is Sunflower. I took this photo at a farm on October 10, 2022. I took this photo with my camera, a Sony alpha6100. How I edited this photo was bringing the saturation up and adding more color into the photo. This photo could be better by it being a bit clearer instead of being a bit blurry. I really like this photo because of the detail in the flower that you can see in the photo. I also like this photo because of the colors and how bright and vibrant it is.
Emma B- Penelope
I took this photograph on October 3rd, 2022 in my bedroom in front of my window. This image was taken with my iPhone 11 and my light ring tripod using a timer. The way I edited this image was by increasing the contrast, warmth, saturation, exposure, and highlights. I feel this photograph could've been better if Penelope (my dog) wasn't looking so uncomfortable in it. She’s not the biggest fan of being picked up but she had to deal with it for this image! Also if the moon lights behind the sheer curtains in the background were out of the image I feel it would've looked better. But other than those things I love this photograph and it's actually the wallpaper on my iPhone!
Patrick C - Books
I call this image Books. It was a book series that started from a summer reading assignment. I then got hooked on the story and read the rest of the series over a couple of months. It was taken in my room using a blanket as a background. The photo was taken on Nov 7, 2022. I made small changes to the color, but enough to make them show a bit more. I really like this photo, but I wish I got the rest of the books in the image. The reason why I like this photo is because of the crease on the spine of the book from being read.
Mohamid S- Pool
The title of my image is “pool.” I took this image at my grandparent's house on the weekend and I took this picture on my phone. I edited this photo by blending in the outside light with the rest of the background which was all black. You may not notice the flash on the white ball because I blended it in. I also changed the hue a little and added a filter to the image. I think it could’ve been better if I got rid of the flash on all the balls.
Matthew H- Royalty
This image is titled “Royalty” and I took it on my kitchen table a few nights ago. I set up my camera above the table and angled it down before setting up the scene. I spread out cards face down and turned over a king of hearts so it was the only card showing. I edited the image by using the dodge tool to brighten the king card and give it a glowing effect. I also gave it a vignette and blurred the details of the surrounding cards to focus even more on the king card. I wanted to create a magical feeling around the card and I feel like I accomplished that pretty well. If I could change anything about the image it would be playing around with different angles and seeing if they emphasized the card even more.
Dylan B- Naculalo Falls
The title of this image is Naculalo Falls, it was taken at Naculalo Falls and it was taken in May of this year. This picture was taken on my iPhone 12, and all I did to edit this picture was cropping it. This picture could’ve been better if I was a better angle to take the picture and if I used a actual camera instead of my iPhone.
Benji - Ghost
This image is titled “Ghost” because of the little figure I added behind the funny-named grave stone. This was taken in a cemetery back in June when I was visiting an old friend and saw this grave along the way. This was just taken on my phone on a whim when I read the name. I sharpened the image, added the ghost, put a filter over it, and enhanced the shadows through photoshop. I wish I had more time to make the ghost a little more realistic so it would blend into the photo better but overall I think it’s cute.

Maci J- Mushroom
The title of this image is Mushroom. I took this photo in September when I was walking on a trail behind my house. It was taken with my Canon Powershot SX530. This image was originally taken very wide but I cropped in so the mushroom was the in the center. I made minimal adjustments to contrast, basically just making the background slightly darker. I used photoshop’s object selection tool to select just the mushroom and I adjusted the saturation. This image would probably be better if the mushroom didn’t have to be in front of a bunch of dead leaves. I also couldv’e tried out different angles to make it more visually interesting. Other than that, I kind of like how out of place the mushroom looks
Logan S- UNO
The title of this picture is UNO. I took this picture in my kitchen. I took the photo with a Kodak AZ252 digital camera. For the editing, I selected the box, added the glowing edges filter from the filter gallery, and overlaid that on a black-and-white version of the photo. I think that this photo could have been better if there had been less glare on the box.
Bray M- Homework
The title of the picture is Homework. It was taken in math class with my phone. I edited it and made it black and white. I think I could’ve tried to foacs and blur more of the picture to make it better.
Jose Gomez B - Chess
The title of the image is Chess and it was taken on a game day with my friends. It was taken with a Canon EOS T7 camera. I edited the color and exposure. I dont know how it could be better.
Josmary L- There is a Message Reflected in Power
I took the photo at my house on November 7, 2022 I took it with my kodak camera including white lights and a more opaque color while taking the photo I mainly highlighted the color of liquid that the glasses contained without thinking about it, it was also grouped to the color of the vase , then I illuminated the glass of the glasses, my goal was to give them shine and it completely met my expectations... Then I focused on giving that essence to the flowers so that they would be the center of interest of the photograph, the green color in the flowers it looks wonderful, I am completely satisfied with the result of the photograph. This photo has represented power and spirituality and thus the reflected message is patentized.
Sophia T- Taking It All In
I took this photo while on a hike at Red Mountain park with my lovely friend, Reagan. The only edits I made to this image was increasing the color and lighting contrast, color saturation, and shadows. I am happy with how this shot came out, however I wish the power lines were not visible - I would photoshop them out if I was skilled enough. lol.
Peyton K- Montana Flower
I chose this photo because I think it really captured the flower. It was taken over the summer in Montana with my Nikon camera. I really like how the colors compliment each other. It took me a while to decide if I wanted the photo to focus on everything including the background or have the background blurred to focus more on the flower. I cropped and changed the brightness and saturation. I could have waited a little longer and held the photo so it was a little bit more clear but overall I think the photo turned out really well.
Chelsea G - Still Life-Narrative
The title of this image is “Still Life-Narrative”. It was taken at Hoover High School in the photography studio, around 9:30 am. I took the picture with Mr.Rigsby’s camera. I edited this picture by saturating parts of the photo and sharpening it a bit so it didn’t seem blurry. It could be better if the objects were placed in better places. The objects in the image are also the makeup products I use, and the synthetic flowers my friend had brought that day.
Amelia G- Sunset
The title of this image is “Sunset”. I took it in Russet Woods on November 6th 2022. I took it with my iPhone 13. All i did was crop it in a little, add contrast, add saturation, and added a touch of brightness. I think it could have been centered better. I ove this image because of the lines leading toward the center of the image.

Maddox D- Pink Flower
The title of this image is Pink Flower. This was taken in my backyard on October 30 ,2022. It was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T6i. I brightened the image and put more saturation to brighten the colors. I feel like I could have focused on the flower better.
Helen S- In The Mirror
I took this photo in my room at night a month or two ago. I took this picture with my Sony A6500 with the micro lens on it. The way I edited this was by using the burn tool and making the image darker. I think the position of the image could have been better and the circumstances as well. I took this picture just to mess around and it turned out pretty good.
Anna Gale H- Flowers in the Night
This image is called Flowers in the Night. I took it in my neighborhood as the sun was going down. I took this photo with my iphone 13 pro. To edit this picture I cropped out the background some and I made the purple color show more. I think this image could be a little bit clearer but I think overall the image is nice.
Amber H- Aquarium
This image is titled Aquarium. It was taken in July at the Mcwane Science Center. It is a photo of my brother and my boyfriend looking at the jelly fish. I took this photo with my iphone 12. The only way it was edited was with cropping, there was another person in the image that I cropped out. I think this photo could have been better if the quality was better. At the same time, I like the natural and candid feel it gives the photo.
Ahmad J- Blazing Wood
This image was taken at point clear in Mobile AL during Thanksgiving of 2021. It was taken was my iPhone 11 pro. I increased the saturation a little bit but other than that nothing has been modified. I think I might be able to crop it in a bit to improve it but other than that I think it’s good. It’s a nice lil fire.

Taylor D- Narrative
This photo was taken November 1, 2022 & on my front porch. This was taken on my iphone 11 in portrait mode. I messed with the sharpness & lighting a bit & it would’ve been better if I cleared the dirty spots up around it.
Dori H - Changing Seasons
This is my favorite picture because it is an odd picture but still shows a story. This picture is called “Changing Seasons”. It is a snow boot with cranberries and frosted leaves coming out of it. It also has different leveled candle holders with pinecones on top of them. It is strange but gives the picture a nature-like and elegant look. There is a warm autumn light coming from the right and a cold blue light coming from the left. This represents the seasonal change from fall to winter. It reminds me of the festive and loving season ahead of me. I changed the levels a bit in photoshop as well as changing the exposure o the boot laces. Overall this is a picture that I really like.
Jade S- Wedding
I took this photo at a wedding on June 4th at Vulcan Park. I edited the photo using photoshop. I really thought the view was very beautiful with all the decorations they had up. I increased the brightness and exposure so it can look more “alive”. I also increased the color balance to give it a more cool tone. For the last few touches I decreased the vibrance.
