Bess H- B&W Polaroid

 This image is called “B&W Polaroid” and it was taken in January, I used my Canon to take this image and it was taken in my bedroom. I added a black and white filter to this image and I tried to crop it to make it look less slanted, but that didn't work as well as I hoped it would. I wish I would’ve gotten rid of the flash right near the “A” in polaroid and I also wish that I would have gotten more of the polaroid in the picture. 

Emma J - Little Guy

The name of the image is Little Guy. I found the snail while walking the Moss Rock trail with a friend. It was taken with my Canon T6 on January 22nd of 2021. I used the photoshop app on my phone to add a black and white filter on the image, then darkened the brightness and increased the sharpness and the contrast. I don’t think there is anything I would change to the image, but I do wish I would have added a flower or another object to the image to make it more interesting.

Abigail P- Flowers & Flowers

 This picture is called Flowers & Flowers. I took this picture with a Canon T6 at the Botanical Gardens a few weeks ago. I copied and pasted a picture of the purple flowers over a picture of the white flowers and decreased the opacity on the purple flower picture. This blended the two pictures together. In the white flowers I pasted pictures of either a book page, the ocean, or colored light. I also increased the brightness and exposure in the picture to make it lighter and bring out the colors in the flowers. Overall, I was satisfied with this picture and really liked how it turned out!

Patrick R- Love Poison

 The name of my picture is “Love Poison”. I took this photo outside of my house on March 30, 2021. I also took it with my iphone 12. I edited it with the nic collection and I touched up the colors to make it look like you were there yourself. A way I could make this better is to touch the edges up a little bit more.

Anthony R- Tripped Out

 The title of this image is “Tripped Out”. It was a combination of 3 pictures and was for the composite assignment. Although it was a picture for an assignment, I thoroughly enjoyed making this composite image. The first image was of a flower, taken in my living room. The second image was of a happy face, taken in my living room as well. The third image was taken in downtown birmingham at a skate spot. I edited it many ways, through adjusting the levels, adding filters, and adjusting the contrast. In my opinion this edit is really nice to me and there is nothing to make it better as I am happy with the final result. Overall a super fun piece to make!

Madison R - Creepy Dock

 This photo was taken in Saint George Island on Spring Break. It was taken with my Nikon 3400 camera. I edited this by bringing down the exposure and bringing up the contrast. I wish the gate on the front of the dock was not there. 

Anna D- Love Note

 The title I gave my picture is called “Love Note”. I took it in the studio in February with Mr. Rigsby’s camera. I edited it so you can see the front of the note and what it is saying, and I made the background black and white and had the pencil stay the same color. It could probably be better if the words popped out a little bit more than they are.

Erik S- Spaceship In The Clouds

 I titled the title “Spaceship in the clouds” because I think that the clouds in this photo look like a spaceship coming through the other clouds. I took this photo outside of my house back in the Summer of 2020 with my Google Pixel XL. In editing this photo, I used the color efex tool and the smart sharpener tool in the NIK Collection to emphasize the colors of the clouds and the trees around it. I also cropped the photo so that it’d fit the 14in x 11in ratio, I also edited the RBg so the photo would be a little darker. If I were to do anything more with this photo, I would have got more of the trees in focus as well as the clouds/storm.

Julie H- Bama Game

 I named this photo “Bama Game” because it was taken at an Alabama Football game. The girl in the image is my older sister. This image was taken with my Nikon camera. To edit the image I turned up the vibrance, brightness, and contrast. This helped bring forward some of the colors in the image. I think to make this image better I could have toned down the color of the screens behind her. 

Redezel L- Isa

 his is Isa, a friend of mine. I took this photo in front of Galleria Mall on January 13, 2021. I used my iPhone 11. I cropped it, added some effects: Vignette and BRL 4, added some butterflies and golden lights. I think it would be better if I chose different filters or effects. 

Dalton D - Ferris Wheel

 The title of this image is “Ferris Wheel”. I took this photo during Spring Break at The Island in Margaritaville with my Pixel 4a 5G. I also took a night photo of the wheel from the other side. I edited this photo by dramatically increasing the vibrance so that the colors would pop. I also brightened the photo so that the sky above could look very relaxing and accurately represent an afternoon at The Island. The only thing that I think could make it better would be to brighten up the supports of the wheel, but overall, I still think that it turned out really well.

Ella F- Daisy Daydreams

 This image is called Daisy Daydreams and it is a composition that I made for the composite assignment. The composition is made up of an image of my friend Emilee and multiple photos of different flowers. All of the individual images were taken at various times and locations throughout the year. Some were taken with my Canon 60D camera, and some were taken with my Iphone 8. I created this composition by layering all of the flower/leaf images on top of the picture of Emilee, then creating a mask and removing all the other layers from her face so that it looked like she was surrounded by flowers and leaves. I like this composition because the way the flowers blend with the background makes it look like Emilee is in a daydream. It could be better if the leaves/flowers came out clearer after being blended together. 

Linley W- A Circus Catastrophe

 My picture is titled A Circus Catastrophe. I took this picture over Spring Break down in Destin, Florida. My family and I went to this little shopping area where there was a carousel, and that is where I took this picture. I took this picture with my Nixon camera. I edited this picture by sharpening up the horses, blurring the background, adjusting the brightness and contrast, and adjusting the color of the image. I also created circles that varied in size and color because I wanted this picture to go along with the circus theme. A circus is always very colorful, which is why I varied the colors of the different circles. This picture could have been better if the horses were a bit more white.

REGAN F- Afterlife

  The title of this photo is “Afterlife”. This is one of the composite photos I have created. I took each of the three pictures all at different times and places. I took two of the pictures with my Canon camera and the Portrait with my Iphone XR. I edited this picture with light and vibrancy enhancement to make the picture brighter. I also used some of the filter gallery folders as well as the NIK Collection gallery. I do wish the picture had a little more to it such as fading of the figures as well as more of a set story. Overall I really enjoy this picture though.

Maddie R- Easter at the Pink House

 This image is called Easter at the Pink House. It was taken at the pink house in Homewood. I took this photo with my phone. I edited it by adjusting exposure, highlights, and saturation. This photo could be better if it took it on my actual camera but I like how it turned out.

 I took this picture one morning when I took my dog out. The sun rising behind the trees and shining on the lake.

Mary B- Blinding Lights

 This photo is titled “blinding lights”. I took this photo in a studio with my Canon camera. I edited this photo by using the Analog Efex Pro 2 filter from the NIK collection. I really like how this turned out, but I wish it was a bit sharper and focused. 

Julie H- Rosemary

The Name of this Image is Rosemary. This picture was taken over spring break at Rosemary Beach. To edit the image I put an Analog Efex Pro 2 on the image with a special camera filter. I really like the vintage look it gives off.

 The title of this image is “Weekends”. It was taken over spring break in my parents bedroom. It was taken on an iPhone XR. I edited it with the nik collection sharpening feature. It could be better if i would have used a real camera instead of my phone’s camera.

Logan W- Beale

 I call this Beale. I took this picture at the Homewood trail under one of the bridges. I took it with my phone. I used NIK filters for editing. I brightened the image as well as increased the contrast. I sharpened the image and then used a vintage image filter. I like how it came out personally. If I could change anything, I would have rather taken it with a real camera.

Yori D- Black and White

 The name of the photo is called Black&White I took this photo in front of City Hall in Bessemer and I took the picture with my Iphone 11. I edited it by just making it black and white.

Drew B- TKdogs_05

 The title of this image is called TKdogs_05 it's a picture of my best friend. We were skating at a regions bank downtown where I took this photo. I took it with my Nikon Coolpix 280 I made it look grainy and added a dark shade on the background. It can't be better lol.

Luke F- Through The Lens

 The title of the image is through the lens. This photo was taken March 28, 2021 in my garage. This photo was taken with my Iphone 11. I edited this photo by messing with the brightness and contrast of the photo. I then went into the color effex and ended up choosing this filer that made it look kind of like a drawing. I think the photo could be better if there wasn’t all of the dust everywhere around the photo.

Mary Ryan M- After the Rain

 The title of this image is After the Rain, and that is because it is of the water and leaves collected in the wheelbarrow at my dad’s house. This photo was taken over the fall, and I edited it by simply adjusting the contrast and brightness. I probably could have made the colors more vibrant, but I wanted them to still look natural. It could have probably been sharper and more in focus.

 This is a photo I took of my boyfriend’s ball python, Kaa. I took this picture for the spring break choice assignment with my iPhone XS. I edited it by increasing the saturation and sharpness in photoshop. I also used the Viveza 2 filter from the Nik Collection. I love the way this image came out and it is definitely my favorite from the assignment. The only thing I would change is the cropping; I think I should have cropped more of the bottom of the photo. Other than that, I am very happy with this image.

REGAN F- Deep Waters

 This picture is titled “Deep Waters”. I took this picture over spring break in Panama City Beach. I took this picture with my Canon camera and edited it with light adjustments and vibrancy enhancement. I also used the NIK Collection to add a filter over the picture. I really like this picture and I don’t think it could’ve come out any better. This is personally one of my favorite pictures I have edited.

Aiden S- Horse

 This Photo was taken in the summit mall during spring break. It was taken with an Iphone XS Max. This photo is named horse because it really focuses on the toy which is a horse. I edited it just by changing the shadows a bit and making it black and white. I could have taken the photo a bit clearer than it already is and should have made the photo more vertical and not curved.

Erik S- Lemurs At The Zoo

 The image I chose for the image & statement is this photo I titled “Lemurs At The Zoo” which is exactly as the name states. I took this over Spring Break with my Google Pixel XL at the Bham Zoo. To edit it, I used the raw sharpener tool in the NIK collection to sharpen the image. I also added a black filter around the edges so that the lemurs would be more noticeable and centralized in the photo.

Ella K- Pansies

 The title of this picture is “Pansies.” I took it on March 28, 2021, with my iPhone SE. So far, I have not done anything to edit it. I think it could be better if I increased the vibrance and contrast or added a filter. 

Myke E- Old 1970

This picture was taken over spring break in the area of the Black Warrior River, were I helped clean up. This was taken with a ladies pro camera(I just had met her and asked). I edited this picture with the Nik collection in photoshop. I added a distort filter, aged border filter, and brown tan filter with a little bit of noise. I think I could have brighted the female face to make it better.

Valentina R - Peace

 This Photo was taken in Miami Beach, Florida at the canal near a restaurant waiting for my table. I took it with my Iphone, I edited it by tinting the photo to make the orange of the sunset pop more and brought up the saturation. I enhanced the contrast and brightness of the image and tried to make it clearer by adjusting the exposure. I think the Photo would come out better if it wasn't as grainy as it is now, or made into a silhouette. This is my favorite photo that I have taken that is considered a candid photo.

Redezel L- Alison

  This is a  photo of my friend, Alison. I took this on January 13 at Crab Du Jour, Riverchase Galleria. I used a Canon EOS Rebel SL3. I used this in one of our assignments, so I only edited this using the tint. I think it would be better if I took a picture with some backgrounds because the decoration around that restaurant was really good.

MaKena C - Shell

 The name of this image is Shell. I took it over spring break. My friend and I were walking around and I spotted the sign. I thought it looked cool so I took a picture of it. I turned down the saturation of the background so that most of the focus would be on the sign. I think that I should have cropped it a bit more. 

Ella F- Green

 The title of this image is Green because there is a lot of green in the picture. It is a picture of my friend, Emilee, that I took at Aldridge Gardens in February. I took this picture with my Canon 60D camera. I edited this image by increasing the brightness to lighten it up, removing minor blemishes with the spot healing tool in Photoshop, and cropping it in to bring more focus to the subject. This image could be better if the sky in the top left corner wasn’t so bright and over-exposed. Other than that, I really like the way that this photo turned out. 

Amira A- Ship of the Desert

 The title of this photo is Ship of the Desert I give this title because this what aribic people name the camel. I took this photo in my house on my camera. The day I took it this photo is on Mar 27 at 3:20 pm. To edit this picture I just change the color to more light. It could be better I think if I take a whole camel or take it from a different side. 

Linley W- Gas Station

 This picture is called Gas Station. This picture was taken a few weeks ago in Downtown, Birmingham. This abandoned gas station is located close to Vulcan and the UAB campus. I took this picture with my Nikon camera. I like this picture a lot because it is of an abandoned building. I love going to abandoned places. I edited this picture by darkening the image as a whole while also brightening up the gas station. I also increased the saturation of the whole image, but I mainly focused on the reds. I made the background darker, so that the gas station itself would stand out against the darkness of the background. I really love this picture, but I do wish it was more focused and the lighting was different. 

Emma J - Purple Railroad

 This photo is called “Purple Railroad”. It was taken with my Canon T6 at railroad park near Ross Bridge. The picture is of my friend Caden attempting to balance on a railroad track and was taken on March 8th of 20121. I edited it using photoshop express on my phone, adjusting the hues, saturation, vibrance, contrast, and sharpness. I wish the photo was more in focus but overall I really like the image and the colors.

Madison R - SGI Lizard

 This photo was taken on Saint George Island, Fl during Spring Break this year. It was taken while I was visiting a bird sanctuary. This photo was taken with my Nikon D3400 Camera and my 400mm zoom lens. I edited this by beginning up the saturation and brilliance and bringing down the highlights. I wish the lizard was in better focus and you could see the focus all down his body. 

Abigail P - Summer

 This image is called Summer. I took this picture with my Canon Elph 180 in the late afternoon. When I took the picture I was at my lake house during Spring Break. I edited this picture using the Nik Collection filter called Analog Efex Pro 2. I used the Vintage Camera 9 filter and I increased the brightness and the contrast some. I also lowered the saturation to give the picture a more vintage look. Honestly I liked the way that I edited this picture and I don’t think I would change anything about it. 

Patrick R- Dragon Flower

The title of this photo is “Dragon Flower”. I took this photo outside from where I live on Spring Break. I also took the picture with my mobile phone (Iphone 12). I edited it on photoshop with the nik collection filter. I could make it better by doing more to it and make it a better picture all around. 

Bess H - Zebra

 This image is called “Zebra” and it was taken over spring break at Hope Hull Safari Park. I used my IPhone 11. When editing, I used a Nik Collection filter under HDR Efex Pro 2. I then deepened the contrast a little and changed the levels in the photo. One thing I would go back and change is the texture of the ground, I feel like it is too textured. 

Dalton D - The Smoky Mountains

 The title of this photo is “The Smoky Mountains”. I took this photo during Spring Break when we were passing through the mountains headed towards Asheville. I put the HDR Efex Pro 2 filter on it from the Nik Collection, and it turned out like this. I didn’t do any other edits because I liked how it came out so much. Looking back on it, the only thing I would have done would be to brighten it just a hair. Other than that, nothing else. I am very happy that the filter was able to capture the pure beauty of the view. 

Sasha F- Dancing in the Sunset

 This picture is named Dancing in the Sunset. It was taken during Springbreak at Seagrove down in Rosemary. I edited it using Photoshop by darkening her to look like a shadow and brightening the sunset. It could be a bit better by making her darker but that’s all I would really change

Allie S- Bryce Canyon

My picture is called Bryce Canon. It was taken on March 22, 2021 in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. It was taken with a Canon Rebel XS. I edited it by bringing up the brilliance and saturation and also bringing down the highlights and contrast. I also brought up the saturation and down the luminance of the reds, yellows, greens, and blues in the picture. I wish I could have gotten a little bit of a better angle so I could make the gap in the canyon the center. I really like this picture and the canyon is really pretty!

Shae M- Echo

 This photo is titled “Echo” because it is an image of my bearded dragon Echo. I took this picture on April 4th in my front yard while we were playing. I took this photo with my Iphone’s camera. I edited this photo by retouching a few areas of the grass, brightening the photo, and using the Color Efex Pro 4 Nik Collection Filter to give the image a little more color. I also used the sharpener filter to fix some of the noise. I think this photo could have been better if it was a little clearer and if I had used my other camera. Overall I really like this photo. 

Jacob F- On Tuesday

I took this picture earlier this week like Tuesday. The reason I took this photo was for my project that's due next friday. The way I edited this photo was I just tinted the photo and put brownish orange tint on it.

 

Myke E- Still Face

 I call this image “Still Face”. This photo was taken Tuesday in the photoshoot room. It was taken with the pro camera I was provided. This picture has not been edited because I love the original so much. I could have played with the lighting more to make this overall better.

JOSEPH K- Dream Sequence

 I call this photo dream sequence, I used my canon Rebel E6 and I made it negative and slightly blurry and added some text. I wanted it to seem very dream-like, and used the text to reflect how fleeting dreams are and how we experience them but don't really remember them. I think the focus could be better. Then I put another background behind it, just to kind of make it hectic and bit everywhere. 

VALENTINA R- Fireflies

 The reason I decided to name this Fireflies is because while the sun was setting and had an amazing orange glow The song that was blasting in the car was  fireflies made of dust- by happy jawbone family band. This photo was taken Yesterday at 5:48 pm, while I was passing through nice houses on my way home. I took it with My Iphone XR. I wanted to make a somewhat nature collage so I also put in photos that I had taken on my moss rock hike that I had taken on February 113th 2021.I wanted the photo to have a lot of contrast to mke the sunset more vibrant so i gave it more warmth and make it  similar to a silhouette with the trees being black.

Drew B- Austin

 This photo is called Austin. It was taken in the band parking lot at about 3:45. I took it with my iPhone 11. I didn't edit it because I need to get this assignment done among other photography assignments. Personally, I think the photos great like how could it get better than that.
