My title is called “lil sprout” because I am growing a plant and it’s sprouting. I took it at my house a couple of weeks ago. I took it with the camera on my phone. I faded the background a little so the main focus was the plant coming out of the dirt. I probably could have made the grass greener so it would stick out more.

Anna D- Lil Sprout
My title is called “lil sprout” because I am growing a plant and it’s sprouting. I took it at my house a couple of weeks ago. I took it with the camera on my phone. I faded the background a little so the main focus was the plant coming out of the dirt. I probably could have made the grass greener so it would stick out more.
Luke F- Clock
This image is called a Clock. It was taken at my grandparent's house on November 4, 2020. The photo was taken with my Nikon D60. I edited the photo by lowering the lighting a little bit and playing with contrast. I think the photo could be better if there wasn’t such a big shadow over it.
Julie H- Toy Story Land
I named this image “Toy Story Land” because that is where it was taken. This was in Hollywood Studies, in Orlando Florida. It was taken with my iPhone. To edit this photo I turned the brightness and contrast up. This helped make the colors in the image stand out more. I also turned the vibrance up. It is hard to take pictures in Disney without getting people in the way, but I think this image could have been better if I would have maybe stood in front of the people in the middle because I think they are a little distracting.

Patrick R- Quick Shot
I tittle this Quick Shot. I took this photo at Hoover high school on Feb 26 2021. I also took it with a Canon Rebel T6. I edited the photo in Photoshop. I touched it up with the spot healing brush and cropped it down. I could express the colors more.
Sasha F- The Morning Sunrise
This picture is called The Morning Sunrise. This was taken on February 4 at the YMCA. I didn’t edited it because I didn’t want to change the way it looked during the moment. I would have changed it by getting rid of the building.
Ella F- Spotlight
This image is called Spotlight, and it is a picture of my brother, Owen. It was taken a few days ago for the portrait assignment. I took it with my Canon 60D camera against a blank wall in my bedroom. I used a flashlight to create the circle of light in the picture. I edited this image by changing it to black and white, cropping it a little closer to his face, and getting rid of some minor blemishes in photoshop. Overall, I am pretty happy with how this photo turned out, but it could be a bit better if it was less grainy in some places.

Yori D- The Lock
The name of my photo is called The Lock. It was taken at the park in my apartment and I took it with my IPhone 11. I didn’t edit it because I liked how it looked just the way it is. It could’ve been better if I had just played with the lighting more and put more colors to it.
Hannah B- Music
This picture is called Music. This is a picture of my friend Illisa while she was listening to music in the band hall. To edit this picture I cropped it. I don’t think there is anything else I would do to edit this picture except maybe take it from a different angle.
Mary Ryan M - Watercolor Sky
The name of this photo is Watercolor Sunset. It was taken on February 4th at sunset. The Colors are not altered, and they came completely from the sunset. This was taken with my Canon camera. The only editing that I did was adjusting the brightness and contrast to make the colors stand out more. It would be better if I could get the powerlines out of the photo.
Ella K - Leaves
The title of this picture is “Leaves.” I took this picture on January 21 in my backyard and it was taken with my iPhone SE. To edit it I increased the saturation and vibrance and edited out some leaves that were closer to the camera. I could make this picture better by making it sharper.
Allie S- Madison
The title of my image is Madison. It was taken on February 26, 2021 in the studio. It was taken with a Canon Rebel XS. I edited it by bringing up the brilliance, exposure, and shadows and bringing down the highlights and brightness. I brought up the luminance of the lights and the cast a little bit. I feel like I could have gotten a little closer to make the subject fill up the whole picture.
Abigail P - Citrus
This picture is called Citrus. I took the picture at my house in January this year with my Canon Elph 180. I increased the saturation and contrast on the orange and decreased the brightness a bit to make the orange color deeper. I also increased the pink and red colors in the orange to bring out its color more. I also increased the green and blue in the background to give it more of a turquoise color. The only thing I wish I could have done differently is to make the background look smoother and get rid of some of the creases in the background so the focus would be more on the orange.

Bess H - Seeing Through the Lens
The title of this image is “Seeing Through the Lens”. I took this photo about two months ago and I used my Canon 4000D. This was taken in my room in front of a yellow and orange screen. I increased the brightness, saturation, and contrast of this image. I also cropped it closer to the lens. I think that I could have cleaned the lens before taking the photo and I could have made the photo a little more straight because it is kind of leaning to the right.
Erik S- Divinity
I took this photo while being driven to Jasper, AL back in the Fall 2020. I edited this photo by using the selection tool in Photoshop to only select the sky, and then adjusted the colors so that the sky would have a pink tint. I then used the same thing, but with the trees on the bottom so that they’d have a blue-ish tint. Afterwards, I added the Japanese term for “Divinity” in the sky for aesthetic purposes. Overall I’d probably increase the brightness of the photo and adjust the colors even more.
Madison R - Leopard
This photo was taken at the New Orleans Zoo on November 1st, 2020. This photo was taken with my Nikon D3400 camera. I edited this photo by bringing down the highlights and bringing up the saturation. I think this photo could be better if I could have focused more on the Leopard and less on the fence in front of it.

Tabithat S- Sloss Furnaces Tunnel
My image is named Sloss Furnaces Tunnels. It was taken on Saturday, March 6 at 8:09pm, and was taken at Sloss furnaces in the tunnels that tourists aren’t usually allowed to go. I took the picture with my phone. I sharpened the tunnel walls and ceiling. Then I used the burn tool to darken the shadows. I wish I could have had a tripod so it could have been better.

Dalton D - It Calls To You
The title of my image is “It Calls To You". I took this photo in my makeshift home studio with my Pixel 4a 5g one night. The title refers to a line in the Star Wars movie The Force Awakens, where Rey finds Luke’s old lightsaber. I used a lightsaber hilt from a Star Wars VR game that I used to play. I edited it by bringing the exposure down and increasing the saturation to give it a green glow, which is reminiscent of Luke’s second lightsaber. Overall, I think it turned out really well. The only thing I would’ve changed would be to smooth out the background.
Anthony R- Chrome
The title of this image is “Chrome” It was taken the other day on my bathroom sink. Was taken with my iPhone XR. I made it black and white and sharpened it. It could have been better if I took it on a real camera.

Myke E- Superior Punch
I call this image “Superior Punch”! This photo was taken the night of Jan. 14th in front of my ring light. This image was taken with my polaroid camera but retaken with my iphone 11 because of the quality. I edited this by using Saturation and Warmth with a little of exposure here and there. To make this image better, I feel I could have gave it a black background.
Joe K- The Homie
I took this picture in downtown birmingham, at this DIY skate park on a sunny day, maybe around November. It was taken with a canon rebel e6 and it’s pretty fun to use. I just edited the lighting on it. I think the angle needed to be moved a lil bit more.
Maddie R- Garden
This image is called Garden. This was taken in the Botanical Gardens around a month ago. This was taken with my Nikon D90. I edited this with luminance and I adjusted the lighting. This image could be better if the dancer stood out more but I like how you see the archway and then her and if the rocks were symmetrical on both sides.
Jacob F- Space
This photo is called space. I took this photo like 4 months ago when I first moved to Hoover. Also I put a filter on the photo because it was light because the sun was hitting me. So I put a darker filter on it so it can block the sun out a little.
Sasha F- Luna De Fuego
The name of this picture is Luna De Fuego. It was taken with my Iphone 11 on Thursday after hiking at Moss Rock with some of my friends. The Moon was a beautiful orange color and was huge. It felt like the moon was on fire. I edited by adding highlighting changing the brightness, shadows, and the black points to it. I would have changed it by zooming in more and make it focus more on how big it was.
Ila H- Cat Tarot
This image is called Cat Tarot because it is a picture of my tarot cards. I took it on my iPhone and used the flash since my room was dark. I edited it by increasing the saturation and adding the posterization filter. I thin it could have been better if I took the photo from a different angle, but I am still happy with how it came out.
