Zach B- 60 Years Of Lovin
I took this photo with my Canon EOS Rebel T6 while at the Botanical Gardens on our field trip. I ran into this couple and started talking to them because I saw the older lady was using a film camera which first peeked my interest in photography. As I started to talk to them, I learned they have been married for the past 63 years. I think the best way to sum it up was in his words: “she’s been my right hand since 1947 and my left hand since 1955.” What he was referencing was they met each other and became friends in 1947 holding their hands together. The reference with the left hand is that 1955 is when he put the ring on her finger when they got married. They are beautiful old souls that I thought needed to be shared which is why I took this photo of them holding hands as they walked away. For this photo I worked with the Color Efex Pro 4 and added a tint of orange and green to the photo. I lowered the brightness and sharpened the photo as well. In my belief, I feel that I couldn’t really add or do anything else to this photo to make it any better physically or mentally.
Noah M- Bird
I took this picture at Hunter Street with my Canon sx720. I saw the bird at the top of the steeple and was hoping my zoom would be good enough to get a clear photo of it, and I really like how it turned out. Editing, I just turned up the contrast a little bit.
Jacob T- Sloss Control Room
I called this picture Sloss Control Room because it looked like a control room. It was taken at Sloss Furnaces on March 4th. I took it with My Canon Rebel T6. I edited it with the Niks Collection and increased the color and sharpness. I think I could have framed the picture better when I took it or get closer and focus on only a couple of the buttons.

Jacob T- Primary Details
I called this picture Primary Details. I took the picture at Aldrige Gardens on the side of the main building with my Canon Rebel T6. I edited it with the Niks Collection. I raised the sharpness and focus to bring out the wood grain in the picture. I think I could have tried editing it without trying to get the woodgrain to show it would look better.
Kameron W- Big Rock
The title of the photo is called Big Rock. I took this in Costa Rica last summer. I edited it by decreasing the brightness increasing the contrast and vibration
Harrison K- Garden
I like this photo because of the bright colors that pop out at you when you first look at it.
I made the image sharper and added to the saturation. I took this in my front yard garden.
I made the image sharper and added to the saturation. I took this in my front yard garden.

Madelyn F- Star Lake Duck
I took this photo for the black and white assignment. I went to Star Lake and took photos of the ducks and swans. This was one of my favorite pictures I took for the assignment. I liked the detail of the water droplets on the swan and the separation of the feathers. I took this with my Nikon D500 and a 80-400mm lens.
Julia M.- My Skinny Self
This picture is called “My Skinny Self”. This was taken with my Nikon D80 at the Birmingham Zoo. I edited it by flipping the picture, and creating a skeleton overtop the flipped image, I got rid of the extra body with the stamp tool. I think tried to make the lemur sharp and fade out the background. I feel it could have been better if I managed the area behind the skeleton better, it kinda goes from sharp to blur really strongly but I struggled fixing it. I really like how it turned out in ht pend because I put a lot of effort into it. This will be the fifth animal in this collection. I plan to have more reptiles and a few more mammals.

Morgan G- Party Animal
I took this in my room. This my cat-shaped blue tube that changes color. It totally awesome in the dark.
Maura P- Red Door
I titled the photo Red door. It was taken in the preserve of someones house and I took it last week sometime. I took it with my Nikon Coolpix L310. I edited it by changing it to black and white and adding back the color to the door. I also brightened up the photo some. It seems a little grainy to me, in that way I could fix the photo.
Jahred T- Shark Egg
The name of this photo is shark egg, its a shark egg if you didn’t know not all sharks have live birth this one is unfertilized, I took the picture with my Lg phone on a aquarium field trip to Georgia. I didn’t edit it at all I wish I could have gotten a different back ground but this is all they had for us to be able to see the glow .
Mariam T - Kitty Kat Haven
I took this picture at a cat shelter named Kitty Kat Haven. It was taken with an iPhone 8. I used this picture because I liked the colors in it. The cat has a ton of colors and I also liked the light purple flowers in the back. I also used the Smart Sharpen tool.
Tamoria F- Ray Bans
I captured this image with my Canon. I decided not to edit the image because I wanted it to be very authentic and raw. I zoomed in with my camera while getting closer to my object. I focused more on the Ray Bans on the glasses instead of focusing on the glasses as an whole. I enjoyed taking this picture.

Make H- Shadow the Hedgehog
I titled this image, “Shadow the Hedgehog” because I am obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow is my most favorite out of all the characters. As you can see, I took a photo of my giant Shadow plushy sitting on my bed with my LG V20 (cellphone). I didn’t do much with this image as editing it wasn’t really necessary in my opinion.
Zach F- The Tip Top Grill
This photo is named “The Tip Top Grill” for obvious reasons. I kept the picture composition the same but just used the Nik Collection color filter to make the sky a bit more neat and add some contrast. I would give a more detailed description but I am literally doing this at the end of class and I forgot to do this until the last moment. I still like it very much though.
Hayden H- Big View, Big Building
I chose this photo because to me, it gives an aesthetic feel. I took this downtown of the City Federal building. I chose top take this image of this building because of its old look, and cool sign. I really do not think it could have been changed to make it any better. I added some contrast, bumped up the exposure, increased the clarity, and added a preset filter in Lightroom.
Caroline K-"Spain Park"
This picture is titled “Spain Park”. I took this picture a few weeks ago using my camera for the architecture assignment at Spain Park High School. I really like the way that the picture turned out and I think that the time of day I took it worked out really well.
Mollie E- "The Big Easy"
This image is entitled “The Big Easy”. It was taken in New Orleans on March 10th. I took this image with my Nikon d3400 camera. This image was one of my panoramas for the architecture assignment so I edited it by sticking it together, and I also used the levels and curves tools in Photoshop. I actually really liked the way this image turned out and I don’t think I would really change anything about it.
Lauren T- Blue Skies and Good Vibes
The title of this photo is “Blue Skies and Good Vibes”. It was taken in Orlando by the pool of The Hard Rock Hotel around the beginning of March. This picture was shot with my i phone 6. I edited it using the NikCollection. It could have been better if I had had my Cannon, and not just an I phone. I love the bright blue sky in this picture. I have always had a fascination with skies in general, and this one reminds me of summer since there are also palm trees. Between the color, feeling of summer, and trees, to me it is a very happy picture! (Hints the good vibes :))
Sara A- Eye See Color
The title of my photo is “Eye See Color”, because it is a picture of an eye that is abnormally colored. I edited this picture using the “Color Efex Pro” app on the Nik Collection. I added the bi-color effect and increased the saturation and span of the colors so that they were prominent in the photo. I wanted to make sure the eye stood too, however, so I increased the sharpness of it. One thing I learned while editing on photoshop is increasing brightness in one specific area. I enjoyed his assignment because it allowed me to delve into a form of photography that I have never done before, but one thing I struggled with was making the camera focus fully on what I needed it to.

Arzoo Q- Walking on Sunshine
This photo is called “Walking on Sunshine” and I took this with my iPhone 6 plus. This was on the HOSA trip around a month ago, right outside of the competition building and the hotel. I didn’t do that much to the picture, I just brightened , focus it, and sharpened it. I could’ve taken this picture better with an actual camera knead of a phone.
Hannah J- Framed Forest
This picture is named Framed Forest. It was taken at Homewood Central Park on March 3rd with my Canon PowerShot. I edited by playing with the color and contrast a bit. It might be better if the light wasn’t so harsh.
Lauren B- Tavern Door
I called this photo Tavern Door because it looks like it could be the door to a tavern in a fantasy novel but with a modern twist. The lantern and shape of the door help contribute to this effect as well as the Nik filter. This was taken at the Lutheran church that is behind Andy’s with my Canon Ti6. I edited it using the Nik filter HDR Efex Pro. I also cleaned up the image by taking out the little lights that were on the pavement and fixing a few spots on the door and wall. It could be better if the glare on the window wasn’t there.
Dalton C. - Checkers
The title of this image is “Checkers”, it was taken in my house with my Canon EOS Rebel T1i. I brightened the image because it was taken in really low light, and I also increased the contrast to make the colors come out more. I wish that I would have cleared the dust before I took the picture.

Yuliana Z.- Pebbles
I titled this photo “Pebbles” since it was taken of some small rocks piled on top of each other. I took this at Moss Rock on March 17th. I took this picture with my Samsung S8. To edit the photo I sharpened the picture using the Nik Collections raw sharpener, and I added different central points on the photo to add a fog effect and make sure the pebbles are seen more clear than the background. I would have made the rocks more clear as a unit and also made the fog the same opacity all around and still look good.
Gracie C - Flowers
The title of my image is “Flowers”. It is a composite of two pictures I took during the close up assignment, one is of some flowers in the courtyard and the other is of my sugar snap pea sprouts coming up at my house. One was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T5 and the other with Mr. Rigsby’s camera. I edited it by making the image of the sprouts an overlay on top of the flowers. I liked how the flowers stood out among the dirt and roots in the other picture. I think it could have been better if the areas where the sprouts are coming up weren’t so bright.
Alexa S- Foggy Mind
The title of this image is Foggy Mind. This picture is from the composite assignment. I combined a picture of my friend Alex, a picture of a succulent, and a picture of an awning. I also added a yellow boarder around the final image. I think the photo could be better if her face was a little brighter, and if I smoothed her so she blended in better with the succulent.
Mahogheny L- Blue
My best image for the Architecture assignment was this panorama I took in down town Birmingham. This panorama contained 19 different shots. I edited this photo by cropping some of the sides out I also extend a build a little further up using the cloning too. I used a Nik Collection filter to get the blueish look.

Kirsten H- Welcome Chloe
This photo is named “welcome Chloe” because this is my new puppy Chloe. I took this photo with my iPhone 6s at home on my trampoline. I edited this photo by turning the background black and white, putting a black overlay on the base of the trampoline, and brighting the image just a little. I think I could make this photo better if I went back and touched up all of the dirt and pollen on the trampoline and on Chloe. I love this photo because you can see how happy she is and makes me excited to see her!!
Cami M- Christmas Feeling
I titled this picture Christmas feeling because I took this picture around Christmas time. This is the inside the mall. I added I Nik collection edit to ti, then I turned the saturation up so the colors in the lights above and the color on the caracal can stand out a little more I wish I could have sharpen it a lot more.
Macy M- Need A Little Life
This image is titled, “Need A Little Life.” This photo was taken at my dad’s lake house in the front yard for the close up assignment. This was taken with my Nikon d3400. I made the background black and white, I sharpened it, I bumped up the saturation, and I made it more vibrant. I wish it was not so blurry in some areas. I sprayed water on it myself to add the water droplet effect.
Anna Kate L- Christmas Mail
The title of this image is “Christmas Mail”. This photograph was taken in at my house on December 8th, 2017. I took this picture with a Nikon D3400 DSLR. When I was editing this picture, I decided to turn up the brilliance as well as give it more exposure. I also gave the image more highlights and I turned down the brightness level. I love this picture because it makes me feel like it is Christmas time. Christmas is my favorite holiday and time of the year because I get to spend time with all of my family. I can’t wait until Christmas 2018!
Carter S - Sunset
I took this photo with my iPhone X, on shades crest road. The edits I made was just a dark/orange like layer tint over the photo. This was taken at sunset on a cloudy day. I like how the sun brightens up the clouds.

Zach B. - Sunset
This photo was taken with my Cannon T6 and I took it on the mountain ridge splitting Chelsea and Pelham. In this photo I saturated it greatly in order to get the colors of the sunset to really pop out of the photo and bring attention to the eye. I also worked on photo shopping a faint tree branch over the sun to help with contrasting the brightness and blinding of the sun by lowering its levels of brightness. I really love this image and even worked on it to the point of where I have no regrets or concerns on what I could add or reduce to improve the image anymore.
Grace B- Hawaii Flower
I named the image Hawaii Flower because it was a flower I saw in Hawaii. It was taken about a week ago with my GoPro. I was taken in Hawaii at their botanical gardens. I edited by increasing the saturation and added a filter rom vsco. I love how it turned out so there is nothing I would change! This is one of my favorite pictures I took in Hawaii.
Brady S- Barber Bridge
The photo is called Barber Bridge because it was taken at the Barber Motorsport Museum on March 4, 2018. It was taken with my iPhone 5s and Other than increasing the brightness and vibrance along with some cropping I think it turned out pretty good.
Fahima M - Birmingham Airport
This picture was taken March 14, 2018 at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. It was taken with my iPhone 7 camera which I then edited it with the Photos editing software I brightened the image and made the colors stronger. I also retouched the road which was patchy from the rain. My picture could be better if I waited a while for the car in the left lane got out of the view, also is had taken the picture with a straighter angle. The airport is where theres happiness when a loved one comes and sadness when a loved one leaves. As for which then the sky and part of the airport to the right of the picture is dark and gloomy and parts of the picture brightened and light symboling the happiness.

Olivia N- Pink
The photo is called Pink and was taken in Hoover ,Al on February 25,2018.I took this picture with an iPhone 7. I edited the picture in Photoshop by adding a filter. I also increased the contrast and saturation, brightness, and added a blur to the photo. The image could be better if it was shot at a different angle.
Gabriel D- Teacup
This photo is called Teacup, from the teacup shown on the window sill. It was taken in an abandoned house on the outskirts of Hoover, in early March. It was taken with my iPhone 8 Plus, and an analog filter as applied to it. Im pretty happy with the shot, however I wish I had shown more of the outside world in the image.
Danielle M - Purple
The title of this image is “Purple” for obvious reasons. I took this with my Nikon D5100 inside of my mom’s camper a few months ago. I edited it by cropping out the unnecessary reflections of my camera in the background and increasing the saturation and vibrance. I wish that I could have made it a tad lighter without increasing the noise.
Emma B- Pink Flower
This photo is called Pink Flower. It was taken outside at Hoover High School. It was taken of February 22 with a Canon EOS Rebel T6. I brought out more of the pinks and made the contrast appear more vibrant. This image could be better if I got the whole flower in the picture.
