Alyson W.-Flower

This photo was taken on the Ross Bridge golf course last year around September during homecoming 2016 with a Professional Camera. I don’t know what type of camera this photo was taken with. All I did to edit the photo was add some color, adjust the exposure, vignette, enhance, and brilliance. I believe this photo could be better if it had more quality and was shot from another angle.

Amber T- Caroline

The title of the image I choose is Caroline. It was taken in the sitting area next to the restaurant Vecchia. It was taken on November 25, 2017. It was taken with my Nikon D70. I edited it by cropping, brightening, and adding a filter. It could better if I brightened the area around her eye where it is darkened by her hair’s shadow. And got rid of some of the fly aways.

Alexa S- Withered

The title of this photo is “withered”. I took this with my Canon in my sisters room. In Photoshop, I used the Nik Collection filters and I also made the shadow behind the flowers darker. This picture could be better if the flowers were a little more focused.

Braxton S.- Waves

The title of this image is waves. I took this picture in July at Panama City Beach in Florida. I took this with my Canon EOS 50D. I edited it with every setting in Photos besides black point. I think what could make this picture better would be the quality. It could be clearer.

Jacob T- Sunset with Plants

I called this picture sunset with plants. I took this picture at tip top grill and I took it with a Canon T6 Rebel. I edited it by brightening the bottom half of the picture to make the plants show more green. I also messed with the color balance to the top half of the image to make the colors pop up more. I could have edited the horizon better. If you look closely yo can see where the brightness layer ends.

Annalisa P- Timb Season

This picture is called Timb Season, because its timb season. This was taken after school in the back where the busses are parked. I edited this picture with Photoshop, but it could be better if I wasn’t a procrastinator and actually went to a different setting to take pictures. And this is myles, i chose to use him with this project because he is very photogenic and has really strong facial features, I also like his style.

Brady S- The Hungry Goat

The hungry goat was taken last month at the oak mountain state fair. I took it with my iPhone 5s, I edited it by adding a chrome filter and cropping out as many people as I could out of the photo. If I had taken this with my camera rather than my phone then it would probably look a good bit better and if there weren’t any people in this it would look great.

Zach F- The Light

The title of this photo is “The Light”. I took it on my front porch at night on October 23. I edited the photo by turning the image black and white, and then pushing the brightness levels and contrast to the extreme. I also painted over an annoying reflection in the glass door. I feel the picture could be better if it was a little more sharp, but that would require for me to have a half decent camera that isn’t seven years old and can take good pictures in the dark. But other than that I think it came out pretty well.

Noah M- Basketball

This photo is of my friend Josh. I took this at his house a couple weeks ago with my Canon sx720. I like this picture because I think it shows some drama with him about to take a shot. I just darkened it a little when I was editing, as I don’t think ti really needed anything done crazy.

Lauren B- Alford Ave Album Cover

I took this image the Friday of homecoming week  in the courtyard with the canon t5 I borrowed from yearbook.I edited it by making the entire background black and white, then adding layers for just the band members and then just the instruments. I put the cutout filter on both layers but with varying highlights and sizes. Then I put black and white filters on each layer, but adjusting them so the people and instruments stood out against the background. This could be better if you could make out their faces a bit more and the filter made them look more cutout of the image. Also if you haven’t heard the band, you should bc they are great.

Mariam T - Kristie

I took this picture of Kristie near the train tracks by my house. I like this picture because there are so many contrasting colors. The blue on her face, the orange sweater the dark green background and her blue jeans are prominent. If I had to edit the picture, I would make the blue paint on her face brighter to make it stand out a little more. The paint was diluted using water so it lost its color.

Jacob T- Bluff Park Hardware

This picture is called Bluff Park Hardware. I took this in Bluff Park in the Tip Top Grill parking Lot. This was taken with my Cannon T6 Rebel. I edited it by using the Nix Collection and used the color effects. I don’t like how the picture is cropped and I think I could have taken the picture from a better angle.

Danielle M - Glow

The title of this image is “Glow”. It was taken in my room with my Nikon D5100. I took it using a color app as the light source (the color being red). I edited by increasing the saturation and applying a sharpening filter on it. I wish that I dusted my cymbals beforehand so that dust particles wouldn’t show up in the image.

Anna Kate L- Shadow

The title of this image is “Shadow”. This image was taken at my house on September 26th. I took it with a Nikon D3400 DLSR. When I was editing the picture, I turned up the exposure and gave the image more highlight so that the shadows would really stand out. I also made the image brighter. This picture could be better if the cracks on the pole were filled in and weren’t so noticeable.

Gracie C - Shaker

The title of my image is “Shaker”. I took this picture while I was in Auburn, AL on September 30 for the Mississippi State game. It was taken with my Canon EOS REBEL T5. I edited this picture in Photoshop, so I am not completely sure how I edited it, but by looking at the original, it looks like I brightened the image, increased the contrast, and adjusted the colors a little bit. I could have gotten more of the hand in the shot to make this image better. I also wish the shaker wasn’t so blurry. This picture is just of some stranger sitting in front of us, so I’m pretty pleased with how it turned.

Grace B- Smile

I named this picture Smile. This picture was taken with my iPhone and it was taken in a purple room in my aunts house. I edited this by adding more saturation and color. I also added a pin tint to the photo. This is honestly one of my favorite pictures because its a picture of my niece and she has the sweetest heart.

Carson R. - Another Home

This image is entitled “Another Home”. It was taken on July 14th, 2017 in Montreat, North Carolina. I took this picture with a Nikon d3400. I brought up the green tint in photoshop and added a slight sepia filter. I also increased the contrast and brightness. I think it could be better if the buildings were more reddish in tint. I took this image on my youth group’s annual retreat to Montreat. It is my all time favorite place on earth and I can’t wait to go back next summer!

Hannah J.- Cooking With Color

This picture is called Cooking With Color because it is the bottom of a frying pan. I took it on October 23rd in my kitchen with my Canon Powershot. I added some saturation and contrast. It would be better if there hadn’t been a spoon in the background, and if the pan hadn’t been quite so dirty.

Caroline K- "Happy"

The title of this image is “Happy.” I chose this one as my favorite because I love how happy she looks. I edited this picture by turning up the exposure and vibrance a little. I think that this picture could be better if there wasn’t any people in the back and her hair was not in her face. I think that the lighting and angle work really well together though.

Maura P- In the Front Yard

I took the photo in the front yard of my house. The photo was taken with a Nikon COOLPIX L310 and I edited the photo by darkening it and adding contrast.

Lauren T- Candid of Kat

I call this image “Candid of Kat” because it was a candid of my friend Katherine. It was taken a couple of weeks ago right by an Ice Cream Creamery in Avondale. I took it with my friend’s i phone 7. I edited this picture a good bit by cropping it, cleaning up the background with the touch up tool, and adding some contrast and darkness. It could have been better if my camera was more in focus. It also could have been better quality if I had taken it with my Cannon instead of an i phone.
I really like the way this picture turned out because of the editing I did. It would have been an average candid before, but once I enhanced it with a lot if editing, the picture had some depth and is now more appealing to look at. I also loved the location of this picture. My friends and I found it when we went outside to eat our ice cream, and it just so happened that there was a really cute little spot to take pictures.

Alexa S- Side View

I took this photo here at Hoover with my iPhone 6s plus. When I edited this photo, I increased the saturation, brightness, and contrast. It could be better if I had smoothed her face a little better.

Charis H- Rainy Day

Rainy Day, was taken in my room during late afternoon while it was raining. I used a black and white layer and increased the contrast.

Amber T- Gracie

The title of the image is Gracie. This was taken on October 29, 2017 in the Preserve. We just walked up to some random brick wall and took the picture. It was taken with my Nikon D70. I edited by cropping the image, brightening it, and getting rid of ay fly aways. It could be better if her face was not so red or dark on one side because of the brick.

Olivia H- Swimmy

The title of this photo is “Swimmy” because it is a picture of my pool. This photo was taken a few weeks ago in my backyard. It was taken with my Canon EOS 7D, and I edited it by darkening the streaks on the rock reducing the saturation and sharpening the rock. It could be better if I was more on parallel with the rock.

Esther K- Formal of Jasmine

The title of his image is “Jasmine.” I selected this image as my best or favorite because I like formal pictures and the color yellow on her sweater makes the picture look really good.  Viewers can assume that Jasmine is a sophisticated and intelligent person just by how she is looking at the camera and the way she is modeling. The lighting on this photo is really good because I had studio lights around her and I turned the one of the right and left the one on the right that way it can create some kind of effect. I learned about changing the lighting as in brightness and contrast and I learned how to make only certain things a color. I liked this assignment because personally I like taking pictures of people.

Macy M - Happy Place

This image is called “Happy Place” because it is the one place I have found where I can be at peace. This was taken on an early morning in July at Montreat. This was taken with my mom’s Canon Rebel T3. I darkened the image and added a warm tint to it. I wish some of the smaller details were not in the image. The whole image’s effect is from the morning fog.

Hayden H- Formal Portrait of Ashley

This picture was taken in the old Hoover Bucs stadium on October 27, 2017. This picture was taken with my Nikon D7100 with a 50mm lens. I adjusted the brightness, contrast, levels, used the dodge tool, used the sharpness tool, and then added a warming filter to this photo.  I could make this better by making more of her body in focus with an aperture of 5.6 instead of 1.8.

Abby W- Illuminated

This photo is capturing Alexa Smith in the studio of the photography room. I used my Sony digital camera. We pulled the black back drop and turn all of the lights off. We then used a lamp to create and orange glow in front of her face. She is holding the lamp in front of her. I think that this picture could be better if the light would have been placed at a slightly higher angle. To edit this image, I increased the contrast to intensify the darkness. I then increased the warmth while adding a slight cyan hue. I then cropped the image to reduce the amount wasted space. I used the patch tool to match some parts of the profile transition smoother into the dark. I also applied a Gaussian blur to help smooth the skin, then reversed the blur to reveal the crisp detail in her bangs, braids, and around the nose and lips.

Mollie E- "Roll Tide"

The title of this image is “Roll Tide” because it was taken in Tuscaloosa during the Alabama vs. Tennessee game. This mage was taken with a Nikon d3400 camera. To edit this image, I first selected the brick wall and changed the levels and curve of the selection and used the selective color tool in Photoshop. New, I selected my friend, Nicolette, and changed the levels and curve as well as used the shadows and highlight tool. I think to make this picture better, I could have tried to make Nicolette and the bricks compliment each other more, they are slightly different in color.

Christian P - A Flower from Darkness

The title of this image is “A Flower from Darkness” it was taken late at night in my backyard with my Nikon D3300 with a tripod and a flashlight to illuminate the subject.  I edited it by darkening the background to make the the flower stand out more as well as changing the color of the flower a bit to make it more red than pink.  I feel like this picture could have been a bit better if I had gotten the flower to be more focused and sharp, but overall I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
