Lauren B- Harry Potter and the Well-Loved Books
I took this photo in the hallway outside my bedroom in my house because I wanted a good angle on the books. I took it with my Canon Powershot and made several adjustments to it, including: bumping up the saturation and color, adding a slight vignette, and turning the definition all the way up to get the cracked spines on the well worn books. As you can tell I have read this series many times and they have lots of wear on them due to many readings. I could have lightened the photo a bit more.
Jahred T- Warming Eclispe
This picture was taken on 8/21/17 during the solar eclipse. I took the picture with my cellphone. I didn’t do much editing. I warmed the picture and zoomed in a bit. I brightened the light and darkened the shade. It could be better if I had gotten a better angle. The picture was supposed to show the ecispe in the leaves but it didn’t show because of the angle
Esther K- Flower In The Dark
Flower In The Dark. This was taken by the pool and it was taken August 20, 2016. It was taken with the Nikon l340 camera. I changed the lighting and the color to make it look brighter. After changing that, I used the sharpen, definition, vignette, and white balance adjustments. I could make this better by cleaning up the spider webs a little better.

Zach F- Hard at Play
The title of the picture is “Hard at Play.” It was taken in my room on August 22, 2017
It was taken with a Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS. The way I edited the picture is as follows: lighting enhanced, cropped to cut out most of my desk, fade filter, vignette strength increased, lighting emitting from screen increased (+ brilliance, brightness), darkness surrounding myself and background increased (- highlights, cast), intensity and falloff increased, noise amount increased.
If I wanted to have the image be any better I would want a clearer image, less light from the lamp, and the corner of the image showing my desk cropped out. Something to know about the original picture is that I directed how the shot would be taken but the person to take the picture was my brother

Lauren T.- Running Upside-down
The title of this photo is, Running Upside-down. It was taken on my back porch at home on August 19, 2017. This photo was shot using a Cannon camera. It was edited using the enhancement button, rotating it 180 degrees, cropping the sides a little bit, and making some minor adjustments such as adding more color, taking down the light levels, and sharpening it. It could have been better if I had cleaned the shoes a bit more. This image represents my love for not necessarily running, but working out. I love to exercise and stay healthy!
Brady S- Three Lone Trees
Three Lone Trees, this picture was taken outside of Helena at a vacant restaraunt parking lot looking across at a field which is rather empty. It was taken around 7-8PM on Saturday August 25 and it was taken with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel ( older camera ). The photo was cropped and it took a good amount off the edges, the blacks were made darker but the whites turned more into lighter gray. The colors were taken out but in my opinion I think if it was more vibrant it could look better.

Jasmine W- Sunnyside
I took the photo at Sunnyside, New York, NY on July 18, 2017. I took the photo with iPhone 6s Plus. I edited it with Photos Editor and used most of the adjustments. I could’ve made the picture brighter. I love riding in the subway despite it being hot sometimes and no air conditioning in the car, but you get to see different kinds of people, and possibly make a new friend with someone you meet while you are riding to your destination.
Presley G- Hoover High School
I took this in the huge beauitiful courtyard of Hoover High and I took this August 11th. I took the photo with a Pentax K200D. I added color and brightness to the photo. It could be better if I make it a little bit darker and less color saturation.

Kameron W- A Sunny Day
The title of the image is a sunny day. It was taken outside of my apartment complex around 5:30 I took this photo with my phone. Edited with a photo app on my phone but added a little more detail on the computer. It could be better if I took it with something different camera

Betsy B.- Clearwater Beach
The title of the image I selected is Clear Water Beach. I took it at. Clearwater, Florida on July 16, 2017 while I was on vacation. It was taken with my Galaxy Note 5. I cropped the picture and if I do more editing I feel it would be better.
ChristianP- Reflections of a Car Mirror
This photo is called reflections of a car mirror, I took it in front of my house in mid August on the weekend. I took it on a Nikon D3300 with an 18-55mm lens at 18 mm. To edit this picture I tried to focus on strengthening the reflection by increasing the brightness and decreasing the highlights. I also turned down the saturation and brought up the sharpness to agin try and make that reflection stand out. One thing I think could have made this better is if I could have gotten the driveway in the mirror and the driveway in the background to lineup better because I think that creates an interesting effect. That’s not something I noticed until after I actually took the photo though. I actually liked this reflection concept and wonder what other similar things I could do with this and some different colors and subjects in the mirror to create different effects.

Noah M- Trails
This was taken in early August on a trail right next to Hoover. It was taken with a Canon sx720. I raised the contrast and darkened it a little bit, and I also added some definition to it. This picture could be better if I had gotten a little more of my friend’s truck (F-150) in it.
Mariam T - Tentacles
This picture was taken at the Georgia Aquarium during Summer break, 2017. I took the picture with an iPhone 6 using the Snapchat camera. I also used the black and white filter on Snapchat then added another black and white on top to make it more prominent. I think it would be better if there were more jellyfish at the bottom because it looks empty.

Macy M - Guitar
The title of my selected image is Guitar. This photo was taken at my house on August 21, 2017 at 4:43:49 PM. This photo was taken with my Canon. I added the “Fade” filter to the image, and I made the image darker, bumped up the color and definition, and added a vignette to the image. There is a slight glare on the camera that I wish was not there. This is probably one of my most favorite pictures.
Ashley M- Palm Tree in the Sun Set.
It was taken in Gulf Shores. This picture was taken on July 18. I took it on an iPhone 6s. I made the lighting darker, increased the Brilliance, and Increased the shadows. I think it would be better if it would have less noise and more leveled.

Gracie C- Yucky Ducky
The title of this image is Yucky Ducky. It was taken at Lake Logan Martin on August 19, 2017. It was taken with a Canon EOS REBEL T5. I edited it by increasing shadows and decreasing exposure and highlights. I also increased up the saturation. It could have been better if I had taken the picture from an angle where the sun did not shine so brightly off the ducks back. I named the image Yucky Ducky, because Yucky is the name of the duck in the photo.
Kevin C- Fun
This picture was taken at 280 at the Summit during a Summer night
It was taken with my friends camera. The way I edited is I turn down the brightens and made put a filter. I also used a filter for the sky to make it look blue and pinkish.

Hannah J-Prize Inside
This picture is called Prize Inside. It was taken on August 21st inside of an old cereal box we used to make a pinhole camera. It was taken with a point and shoot canon. I added fade to it. I probably would be better if the image was straighter, and if the red in the corner was not in it. This was the only picture I could get of the eclipse that was any good, even though you can’t see the chunk out of the sun.
Austin C- Dilapidated
This photo was taken at Banks Middle School. Banks middle school is a dilapidated school.
A friend, Matthew Wrona, and I made a trip down to the school to meet up with other photographers. This specific picture was taken in the gym of the school.
I edited this picture by first taking the highlights all the way down and bumping the brilliance all the way up to get an effect that I like and use in most of my more dark photos. I then raised the contrast and brightness. After this I added a vignette and finished editing my photo.
I could make this picture better if I were to start by standing a bit farther away from the wall and capturing the whole wall of the gym. In an editing aspect I could make the picture better by possibly going for a more colorful and bright tone.

Annalisa P- Vans Obsession
Taken in my room, some time during the day. Taken with a Canon T6 and edited with Apple Photos.
I chose to take a picture of vans because they are the only shoes I wear and I love them. I wear them with my friends and almost anything I do so whenever I look at one of the pair of shoes, it reminds me of things I did that day I was wearing them.

Alexa S- Maui, Kula
This picture was taken in Maui, Kula. When editing this photo, I first decreased the light exposure. I then increased the color and noise reduction. And lastly, I increased the saturation and contrast.

Gabriel D- Bus Cliff Hanger
The name of this image is called Bus Cliff Hanger. This image was taken in St.Louis, City Museum. This being one of the main attractions, a bus suspended above ten stories. This shot was taken around late July, mid day. This was taken with an iPhone 6. I used photoshop. I should have taken the image without the sidewalks in view.
Daniel L- Bliff
The title of my photograph is Bliff. It was taken under a bridge by Simmons Middle School. It was taken around the time of February with a Canon t6i. I edited very little of it on the “photos” app and the reason I edited very little was because the lighting at the moment of the picture was amazing.

Diego M- That Boy Kevin
This photo was taken around the middle of March in Moss rock.
And was taken with a canon 70d.
I didn’t edit much on it but I did adjust the color of it making it a little brighter than it was.
This picture could be better if it was taken with a little more sunlight .
Carmen L.- SunSet Lover
This Photo was taken in 280 at a view near the Summit, I took this in sometime in November 2016
It was taken with an iPhone 5s.
The edits I did to this picture I enhanced it and lowered the contrast, and gave more highlight to it.
I could’ve taken the picture sideways and maybe gotten more city lights in it and maybe if the sunset was brighter.

Amber T.- Blue Skies
This picture was taken in my backyard. I took it last weekend when I was playing outside. I took it with my Nikon D70 camera. I edited it by bringing up the light, giving more contrast of color, sharpened the details, and darkened the trees. I could have used more filters to bring out the color of the sky or give more sharpness to my picture.
Hayden H- Cars and Coffee
This was taken in the parking lot of Hoover Tactical off of Highway 31. It was taken on Saturday 26, 2017, This was taken with my Nikon D7100 with a 50mm lens on it. I bumped up the sharpness, adjusted the levels, bumped up the exposure, and bumped up the clarity. I edited this picture on the photos app and on Adobe Lightroom. It could be better if you could not see my reflection on the car
This photo represents something much more than just a car. I took this at a car show called cars and coffee and it is where a bunch of car junkies meet up and talk about cars and to showcase each others cars. This is like a second group of friends because even though we all have separate interests, this is where we all can come together and debate about cars and just have fun.
Anna Kate L- Ice Cream Roll Ups
This picture was taken at a mall in Huntsville, Alabama about month ago. This photo was taken with my phone. I enhanced the photo and also adjusted the lighting. This picture could be better if the texture of the ice cream was more clear and if there was more light in the picture. I have always wanted to try ice cream roll ups and I was so excited when I finally got the chance to try them!
Mollie E- "A Peaceful Lake View"
This image is called “A Peaceful Lake View”. It was taken In Riverside, AL on Logan Martin Lake on August 25. It was taken with a Nikon d3400 camera. I used the chrome filter, changed the light and color settings, as well as used the sharpen, definition, and noise reduction to enhance the photo. I think I could have made it better by finding a way to make the lake look less yellow-green.

Danielle M- Bleu
Where and when it was taken: This image was taken at the house I petsit at in Bluff Park on August 26th, 2017. The dog’s name is Bleu and he’s one of the three dogs that I take care of at the house. It was taken with my Nikon D5100. I edited it in Photos by increasing the brightness and definition. I took this photo with one of my larger lenses and since the subject moved a lot, it would pick up the blur, therefore making the picture not as high-def as it could be, which I would like to change if I was able to.
Grace B- Sunsets
The title of this image is “Sunsets.” This picture was taken this summer on Smith Lake. I spent a lot of time at Smith Lake over the summer and got to enjoyment beautiful sunsets. This picture was taken with my iPhone. I edited the picture by making it a little darker but doing more color. This image could have been better if it would have been taken on an actual camera instead of my phone. I really loved my time out on the boat at night watching the sunsets every night.

Savannah G- Sushi Roll
This was taken in my room on July 27. The picture was taken with my canon rebel t6. I edited it by adding light, color, enhancing, definition, and sharpness. I think this picture would have been better if you couldn’t see the scratches on the tank.
Emily R- Finding A Reason
The title of this image of this image is, Looking For A Reason. This image was taken few weeks ago at Presley’s house, here in Hoover. This photo was taken with my Sony camera. All I did for editing was I darkened the picture a bit, turned the saturation up a little, and turned the noise reduction off and turned the grain up. It could be better by the shadows being more defined than they are right now. Any other info is that me Alexa were dying of heat and we were pretty sure we got poison ivy!!:)
