Lesly M - Natural
This image is titled Natural. Taken in February on a rainy and cold afternoon. Taken with an iPhone 6s. I edited it using some filters from Nik Collection. Also brought up the brightness a little but also darkened it in the bottom area. Added saturation so the colors would pop more. I really wouldn’t change much, all remember is that this image captured my cold rainy hike.
Lily D- Beach
I took this picture at the beach in Dentin, Fl last weekend. I took it with my Canon XTI. This is a picture of 2 condos and I am standing in the middle of them. I edited it with VSCO cam.
Julia M- New York
This photo is called “New York” because of the New York city overlay I put on myself. The picture of New York was taken a year or so ago but the portrait of myself was taken a couple weeks ago. Those pictures were taken with my NikonD80. I edited this picture by adding 2 overlays with soft light of the city, one flipped to mirror the other. Then I added some saturation and coloring enhancements to really make the picture pop. I think this picture could have been better if it wasn’t so grainy with the overlay.

Sarah H- Moss Rock
I named this photo “Moss Rock”. I was at Moss Rock when I took this photo around 3pm on Sunday. I took this with my Canon Rebel T5. I edited it by bumping the saturation, vibrance, exposure and gamma up a bit, messed with the highlights and shadows and added a warming filter and a sepia filter. I think this could be better if I was actually able to get down into the water to focus it more on the rocks.
Emily B - Flower
I took this picture one day in my room with my iPhone. The flower was originally pink, but I added filters to transform the colors. I made the background look black to draw the eye to the flower itself. I darkened the picture and made it look a lot different from the original. Overall, I really like this picture! I would not change thing.
Damion C - Panorma 6
This is a panorama I took in the basement of my moms apartment building and the room was dark so I used the flash to light it up. I used the toy camera filter in the Nik collection to give it the 3D effect.

Alicia U- Architecture 2
This picture is of this building I took downtown it was taken with my Canon camera. This picture was taken a few weeks ago during our Architecture project. I made the picture bright because it was kind of dark. Then I edit it by putting some Nik collection filters on it to make more lighter and darker. It could been better if I zoomed out a little and made it dark like in the middle.
Amber B- Old Building
The name of my picture is old buildings. I took the picture with my Nikon D3500. I edited by moving up the contrast and turning down the contrast. I like this picture because of the details of the buildings.
Ben S - Church
I like the selected image because it is a good picture of my church, which is important to me. The halo effect around the church gives it a nice feel and the way the perspective is warped looks cool. It could have been better with more around the church and some more sky.

Will H- DJ
This picture is of my friend Dj Fair. It was taken recently in the studio in the back of the classroom. I took it with the classroom camera and I tried too focus on the center of the pic to get a really detailed picture of him
Chris W- Brady
This is the photo I choose because of the edit and they are my favorite team so I just had to use it. Then also it’s a Brady jersey. One of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game I could careless about what people say and people say he cheated he prove to world that he could come back from 25 point deflate in 4th quarter and win his 5th super bowl.
Lily D- Jade
This was taken a few months ago in a parking lot of building on Downtown Birmingham. It was taken with my cannon XTI. I edited it by turning up the contrast and making it more vibrant. It could better if it was clearer and maybe more up close.
Raven H ~ Colors
This image is titled Colors. I took this photo in the courtyard during lunch. I edited this originally bland picture of dead leaves on dried grass into a meaningful picture of bright colors. I love this picture because it gives off my love of nature but also shows how I choose to see the bright and positive view in any and every situation versus seeing the negative view. I wish I could have touched up the edges just a little more but overall I really love the impression the image gives to the viewer about me.
Jasmine C- Narrative
I choose this picture because I just think it’s really cute. I like the monkey and they lady bug together. To edit i brightened up the picture and fixed and few blemishes here and there and increased exposure.

Mackenzie J- Sunset City
This picture is a composite that is composed of two images. The background of the sunset was taken on my way home and the magic city was taken downtown a few weeks ago. I took both of these pictures with a Canon Rebel. I fused these images using masks, filters, and multiple layers.
Jack S- Bubbles
This photo is titled Bubbles, I took this on my iPhone 6s camera here at school, I use the flash to add light to the image. It could be better by enhancing the color and putting a nik filter on it.
Ana M- Pup and Space
This is called “Pup and Space.” I took this pictures a while back because of an assignment that we did based on composites. I combined a picture of a puppy, moon, and picture of a sunny day. I filtered the moon of a blurry and overplayed the picture in the main picture. As well as the sunny picture. i darken some places and brightened another.
Tyler L.-Conner Brick
I named this picture Conner Brick. I took all these pictures on separate days but edited them together during are composition project. I took all three of them with my Nikon D3300. I edited all of them by blending the layers and using a mask. It could be better if I had a shot in a city for the background instead of the tunnel.\
Maddy F- Tilt
I made this composite with a picture of my sister, and a picture of a graffiti wall. I took the picture of my sister in Huntsville a weekend or two ago. This is a pretty simple composite but I thought it gave the original picture of just my sister an urban twist.
Anna Grace L- ATL
This picture is titled ATL and is a composite of the city of Atlanta with two people in the foreground. I took all three pictures with a Cannon Rebel T5. The pictures of the two individuals were taken downtown in Railroad park. I used the difference blend and brightened up all of the images. It could of been better if it was cropped more.
Sophia J- Puzzled Animals
The background image and cat were taken 1-30-2017. The wolf and fox were taken on 4-10-2016. I used a Coolpix s2800. I increase/decreased the brightness and contrast. I used overlay on the wolf and fox imaged in Photoshop. I adjusted the saturation/ vibrance. I also used vivid light on the cat image. This composited image could have been lighter.

Madelyn W- Lana Del Rey
This picture was taken one afternoon on my back deck. This picture was taken with my Canon Rebel t5. To edit this picture I used a black and white filter and bumped up the contrast. It could be better if it was more centered.
Reid B- Pencil Sketch
This picture was taken on January 31, 2017 in my room. It was taken with my Cannon Rebel Xsi. I edited this picture by adding a pencil sketch filter and I brightened it. I think I should have brightened it up a little bit more.

Mattie B - Anna
The title of this picture is Anna. I like this picture because of all the colors and lines that are random throughout the image. I could have made this better if I blended the lines a little better.
Landon H - Shelby
This photo is called “Shelby” because that’s the name of my truck. These photos were taken on September 18, 2016. I took these photos with my Nikon D90 Gold Edition. I edited the photos by initially layering them over each other. On the photo on the left I used the hard light filter to give it a transparent look, then I cropped it in to the top left corner. The photo on the right i used a Hard light filter again and cropped it up in to the top right corner. On the base photo I used the screen filter and lightened it up a bit. I don’t think there is anything i would change personally.
Everett M- Altoids
The name of the picture that I chose to display for this photo blog is called “Altoids.” I wanted to utilize a subject that could be advertised to people, and create a simple but appealing graphic design for it. So I chose an Altoids can to be my subject. To edit this picture, I did some basic saturation and brightness changes to make the initial image look more appealing. I then went in and changed the hue of the cyan colors, since the Altoids can was originally a cyan color, to a violet color. I then applied a white fill to the background and blended it with the background layer. Finally, I applied a filter that gave the entire image a simple look so that it would catch people’s eye.

Sarah H- Colors
The title of my photo is Colors. I took with photo at the zoo April 10, 2016. I took it with my Canon Rebel T5. I edited this photo by adjusting the brightness, tweaking the exposure and gamma, and boosted the vibrance and saturation. I think it could be better if I was able to get closer or higher up front where I was standing.
Maci H - Lighten Up
The image I am submitting to the photo blog is “Lighten Up”. I took this a few nights ago outside of Moe’s Barbecue in Patton Creek. The picture was taken with my iPhone 6s Plus. I used Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 to edit this picture and added the color filter with Color Efex Pro 4. This picture could have been better if I had cleaned it up a little more.
Taylor D- Oranges
I titled this picture Oranges because it is kind of self explanatory. I took the during our still life assignment and it was taken at my house. I did an overlay layer and darkened the space around the bowl and contrasted it a tiny bit. It would’ve been better if I had focused it a little more and made it more detailed.

Matthew G- Peace be the Journey
I call this image Peace be the Journey. I took this with my Nikon D3300. I bumped up the saturation a little bit to add in the pretty colors of the leaves. I took this on a hike that I went on through a memorial park back in November. I could have made this image better by taking it at a better angle or showing more of the sun.
Margaret S - Nail
The image titled Nails was taken around my lake house this weekend. I edited it by focusing on the biggest nail and sharpening it. I added a black and white filter to the image and brightened it some. The image could be better if I had been able to focus on more than one aspect of the scene.
Mahita T- Freedom Tower
I titled this picture Freedom Tower. I took this picture 2 years ago during summer in New York City. I took this picture off of my old phone which was a galaxy s4. I edited this picture by increasing the sharpness and clarity. I also added more color to make the blue sky more vibrant. I think this picture could have been better if I took this shot from another angle.

Alyssa R- Greens
This photo was taken in my kitchen of a flower from a delivery I had received for my birthday. It was taken with my Cannon Rebel and I did not edit this very much i just boosted the colors a little bit to make the green pop. I think it is a little too bright, I believe if I made the photo a little darker it would look much better. But overall I really like how the green fills up the whole frame and leaves little space for extra noise in the background.
Maddi S- Roses
This photo was taken of some roses that I have hanging up on my wall in my bedroom. It was taken with my Canon Rebel T3i. I edited this by enhancing the brightness and decreasing the saturation.

Yash M- Sunglasses
The name of this photo is sunglasses. I took it in my room a few weeks ago. I took it with my phone for the close up project. I edited it a lot. I first added a filter from the Nik Collection. After that, I cropped the photo to remove the useless space and center the glasses. I then colored in the lens to clean up the dust and my shadow. I could have made it better if I could have cleaned up the back part better.
Amber B- Old Time
The name of my photo is Old Time cos because it is an old gas station with cars at the bottom that look abandoned. I took all three of these pictures with my Nikon D3500. Two of the pictures were taken in Tennessee and in Marion, AL. I edited these pictures by blending them together using the darker color filter and then erasing deferents parts.
Mitchell R.- Flashing Lights
This is a pic of my friend Ayana I call this photo “flashing Lights” I could have made her clear and not so blurry.

Magali V - Cup of Warmth
The time of this picture is “Cup of Warmth” It was taken in my kitchen with my Fujifilm Finepix s2800HD camera. To make it better I would have have wanted for a less bury picture or a shaper aspect of the things that were inside of the cup. I took this picture for the still life assignment, but I really like it because it depicts that warmth of a home.
Ava W- Mmm
This is a picture of a shrimp burger from Flip Burger at the summit. I took this at my friend’s birthday party. I sharpened the image and blurred out some of the crumbs that were in front of it. I like this picture just because it looks really appetizing and you can see all the aspects of it very clearly.
Satura D.- Flower Pink
This picture is called Flower Pink because the flower is pink. I took this photo in my front lawn. I put a lighter filter on it and dimmed the saturation. I like this photo because I like the color and how focused it is.

Waseem A. - Crimson Ball
The title of this photo is “Crimson Ball”. I took this picture with my iPhone 6s Plus when I went to play with my Sunday League soccer team at Vestavia. I used one of the Nik Collection filters and changed some of the settings to add red and black colors to the soccer ball. What I could have done better was take more pictures of the ball so that the background can be visible and I maybe should have sharpened it a little. But of course, I wasn’t able to take more pictures because I was in the middle of the match.
Semahj R.- Lucid Winds
I captured this image in time with my iPhone 7 while I was at the Galleria mall. I called this picture Lucid Wings because I liquifed the clouds to have some similarity to birds.
Olivia H.- Sea Blue Shell
This picture is called Sea Blue Shell. I took this photo with my Canon. This shot was taken in my house by a window for the natural lighting. To edit this I sharpened the shell and enhanced the brightness, I also darkened the edges. If I had to change something about it I would want the shell to be completely sharp and not blurry.
Emily B - Flower
I named this picture flower, because that is the subject. I took this on my iPhone one morning super up close. I edited it by using the Nik Collection Color Efex and darkened the corners a little bit to go more in depth. I really like this picture, I’m just worried about it being too bright.
Skylar J - Wooden Knife
The name of this picture is “Wooden Knife”. It was taken about 2 weeks ago at a restaurant called The Melt. It was taken with my iPhone 6s camera. I edited it by contrasting and saturating it. I also played with the exposure. It could’ve been better if the whole knife was in the picture. This was a great day when I took this because it was the first time I had ever been to The Melt.
Julia M- Dark Fairy
This picture is titled “Dark Fairy”. This was taken with my nikon D30. It was taken on a rock stack in a river bank back when it was dried up. This pictures depicts a scared fairy hiding from the photo been taken (and no alas the fairy isn’t real, I photoshopped it in there). I added many a layers to give the fairy life and added the black and white to give it a mysterious effect. I believe it could have been better if I edited the fairy in a little better and took more time on it, it was a side project I was working on and not for an actual assignment. Doing these kinds of pictures is one of the reasons I joined Digital Photos because it helps me create these unique fantasy pictures I’ve always wanted to make but never really had the art skills to do.
