Catherine S- Dragonfly

This picture was taken while I was camping with family and friends. My little cousin found a hurt dragonfly and wanted to keep it as a pet. He was proud of it and wanted me to take a picture, so I did. I thought the antique effect looked good on this photo, and also enhanced it to bring out detail and coloring. 

Sarah P- Road Trip

I took this photo in the car on the way to Tuscaloosa. I really enjoy traveling and seeing new places. This picture looked cool with the curve of the road and the rich color of the trees. I also like the billboard way off in the distance. 

Gavin M- Cali Sunset

This a picture I took in about nine years ago at laguna beach.  This was one of the first digital photos i ever took.  For this i photo I left it pretty raw because I thought it was naturally beautiful.

This is a photo of my personal collection of books, which I took one afternoon in my room for the About Me assignment. I like the sharpness/definition of the details as well as the overall color scheme.

Samantha D- Reflection

This is a picture of my reflection taken from a car window. I like this picture because I like reflection pictures a lot. I adjusted the temperature, saturation, contrast, and added edge blur. I love how the colors take on a warm color and how you can see the inside the car and i like how you can see the environment outside.

Tripp W- Hands

I took this picture with my brother. Hw was playing the guitar and I thought i might as well play with the aperture on my camera. I wanted the viewer to focus on his strumming hand and the grain of the guitar. To enhance the texture of my brother's hand and arm, I increased the highlights and shadows. 

Darien B- My Life

This picture is titled My Life. I took this picture at a softball field in Hoover. To edit it i adjusted the contrast and made it black and white. I absolutely love softball and i feel like this picture represents me very well.

David M - Darts

This is a photo of my dartboard in my garage.  I took this photo September 1 at around noon.  To take the picture, I used the portrait setting of my camera.  I staged this photo by taking the dartboard off of my wall and propping it up in my garage, and I placed some of the darts next to it.  I took many photos of the dartboard from different angles and different camera settings, but this photo is my favorite.  To edit the photo, I used the 'Fade' option five times and I used the 'Boost' four times.  

Arisha L-Nature

This is a picture of flowers that I took one day in my backyard. I really love all kinds of flowers, but red roses are my all time favorite. I love taking all kinds of pictures. Photography is like my passion. I choose this picture because I feel like it really captures my love for flowers and photography. I boosted it three times and vignetted it once. I was really happy with the outcome of the picture.

Haley Y- Baking Utensils

This picture was taken at my house in the kitchen. I really like the way the light reflect off the metal. I changed the color to black and white. This added more contrast to the light and dark colors in the picture.

Andrew L-Household

This photo is of my house.  I took it one afternoon at sunset with the sun shining on the front.  I had to cut out some power lines, add sharpness, add highlights, and make it black and white to make the photo come out sharp and crisp.  Also, like the clouds above the house with their light aspects compared to the sharpness of the house.

Amber A-Shoes

I took this picture with my bridge camera for the about me project. I took this picture because I am one of those people who believe that you can never have too many pairs of shoes. To edit this image, I enhanced and retouched a couple of areas to remove specks from the shoes. I boosted the color and added a vignette to this picture.

 I took this picture last fall at Aldridge Gardens. I love the colors in this picture. 

Abhay T- Tennis

This photo is of my tennis racket and a ball placed near the center of the racket. I really enjoy this photo because it shows my hobby of playing Tennis. This picture was taken on my front lawn, where I placed the tennis racket on the ground, and I shot from several angles, but this one turned out the best, in my opinion. The original photo included more grass than I wanted to, so I cropped it. I also changed the saturation to make the colors stand out, and also made the photo cooler. This picture could be better if the tennis ball was not really as bright as it is.

Emily A. - Belle Dress

This is my Hoover Belle dress. I was chosen as a Hoover Belle last January and I was presented into the group in May. I took this picture one night when I got my dress back from the cleaners. I thought it was set out nicely so I took a picture of it. To edit it I sharpened the contrast and added the antique effect because it is supposed to look like the old antebellum dresses women used to wear. I like this picture a lot because becoming a Hoover Belle was one of my most exciting accomplishments. 

Hemin N.- Basketball

This is a picture of a basketball goal. It was taken in my backyard. I took this picture because basketball is one of my passions, I have played it for more than 5 years. I chose this picture because it does good job representing my favorite pastime activity. I edited the picture by turning up the contrast and turned up the temperature. I also increased the saturation and definition. I am quite happy with the way that this picture turned out. 

Alyssa Y- Walk a Mile in My Shoes

I love the placement of this photo and how it is eye level. The grass in front of it is blurry, while the shoes are clear giving it the depth of feel. I edited this picture by adding more exposure and adding more contrast. Then I added saturation and the fade effect. I am pleased with the results. 

Luiza L.- Piano

This picture was taken in the office of my house. It is of my piano, which is important to me because it is something I am very dedicated to and spend a lot of time one. I chose this picture to put on the PhotoBlog because I felt it is the picture that best represents me. I edited this picture by cropping it down and increasing the shadows. I did not have to do much editing because I already liked how it looked when I took it. I am happy with how this picture turned out.

Meagan P- Pocket Watch

I took this picture in my car right after I bought this necklace a couple weeks ago.  I really like this picture because the way the clock looks, the chain and the denim behind it. 

Ashley V- Mirror Sky

This picture was taken on my porch, during summertime. I absolutely love this picture because Im a fanatic about the beauty of the sky. I enhanced the sky color and toned the back out a little.

Andie C - Turks & Caicos

I took this picture one day while at the Beaches resort in Turks and Caicos. I took this picture while walking on the beach. I love the way the water looks in this picture, because this is as close to as real life as it could get.
